Our Gift to the three Ordinariates around the World
A tartan for the Personal Ordinariates within the Catholic Church
Our Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to have the THE ORDINARIATE Tartan woven was a great success. We asked for £2,700 and raised £4,786. The weaving is about to begin ... do you want to be guaranteed to be amongst the first to own something made in The Ordinariate tartan?
Yes? We invite you to pre-order any of the items below. Full payment will NOT be taken until the items are ready for dispatch (around March 2021) although we need a non-refundable deposit as a guarantee of your purchase and of our commitment to you.
Please note: the images below are not accurate representations of what The Ordinariate tartan will look like as it has not yet been woven.
We will send an invoice by email for the deposit (50%)
for each item ordered. Payment can be made by all
major credit and debit cards. A final invoice will be sent
when your Ordinariate tartan products are ready to
send (around March 2021). Postage will be added to the
final invoice - £4 within the UK and £10 world-wide.
For multiple items postage will be chaged at cost.

Priest’s or Deacon's Stole - £250
This design has been created by Ecclesiastical Embroidery by Ruth Black especially for use by Ordinariate priests and deacons. It features a representation of the statue of Our Lady of Walsingham above a Celtic knotwork square that holds a Saltire (St Andrew’s cross - the flag of Scotland).
At the neck of the stole is a small Celtic cross. The main fabric is available in ivory, green, red or purple and is a wool/polyester blend. The stole can be made in any of the Liturgical Colours and is lined with the Ordinariate tartan on the back.
We will confirm with you the length and colour, etc required by email. Deposit: £125
Tartan Fabric - £50 per metre
The tartan fabric will be supplied in a continuous length. The tartan is woven at 137cm (54 inches) wide. The sett is symmetrical.
Please indicate how many meters of tartan you require.
Please note that the tartan is a 12 ounce cloth so it is suitable for making garments such as a lady’s skirt or a child’s kilt. Deposit: £25 per meter
This weight of this tartan is not suitable for making a gent’s kilt which is normally made from a heavier 14 ounce cloth. We hope in the near future to have The Ordinariate tartan available in this weight. Please register here for occasional email updates.
