Highland group settle in St Mary's, Beauly |
Having spent the Easter Season exploring the Catholic parishes around Inverness the Highland group of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham in Scotland have decided to settle in St Mary's, Beauly where they have received a warm welcome from Fr Colin Davies and his parishioners. They hope to be present at the 11.15am Sunday Mass each week as they settle in to life in spiritual new home.
The group are most grateful to Bishop Peter and to the priests and people of all the parishes they have visited since Easter. Everywhere the welcome has been warm and we have enjoyed the Sunday Mass although some members of our group are drawing up a list of those churches with the most uncomfortable pews! Finally though, one week after the Conventual Mass at Pluscarden Abbey - over lunch in a farm shop near Nairn - we all decided that St Mary's, Beauly, should be our 'spiritual home'.
Meanwhile, those other members of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham in Scotland in other locations continue to worship in the Catholic parishes which have become their spiritual homes. In time, we hope to have regular a regular Ordinariate Mass in different parts of Scotland.
